about

Teleó ("consummation" in Ancient Greek) is a melodic take on what it means to be human.

Waking up alive on the earth
A sweet but fleeting sense of congruity
The disorientation of pain and the ways we choose to cope
And, despite everything, our shared desire to belong.

The final two tracks of Teleó bet with hope—that instead of breaking into nothingness, in the end we will find the fragments stitched together into something beautiful.

As a non-Indigenous person who’s immigrated from one colonised land to another, I’d like to acknowledge the First People whose land this music is connected to: the Wadi Wadi people of the Dharawal Nation.

Over the past 10 years of living on this land, my own perspective and spirituality have been enriched. These songs lend expression to what’s been taking shape.

I honour the elders both past and present and acknowledge their descendants who have endured dispossession and genocide, yet continue to maintain their identity and culture. I honour them by paying respect to the knowledge embedded forever in this land.

Huge thanks to Laura Howald and Krista Sundberg for their incredible voices, Aaron Rathjen for his bass genius, and the rest of my team for the opportunity and encouragement to make this music.

Hugest thanks to Becca and our kids for putting up with me striking while the iron was hot (a few late nights), and for going out when I needed a bit of quiet on the set.

Peace!

With a Telecaster in one hand and a Juno 106 in the other, Chris spends his days at the helm of his little studio, plunking out tunes that reflect an evolving sense of place.
